Late Autumn
These beautiful photographs were sent in by Carolyne (Plot 7a). She beautifully captured a couple of Willow Warblers eating seeds as well as our friendly Robin and Blue Tit. If you have any photos you would like to share please let our Secretary Phil (Plot 9a) know. Here is what she said:
'I took a little wander on site with my camera last week. It was a lovely mild sunny day. There were the usual magpies, pigeons blue tits and robin but I was very surprised to see 2 birds feeding on weed seeds that had been growing up a fruit cage. They looked similar to Sparrows or Chiff Chaffs but the leg colours and tail shape proved they are Willow Warblers. So it goes to show that leaving the odd weed isn't such a bad thing at this time of year. Giving food to migrating birds. Obviously we don't want weeds everywhere but I have to admit I find a little mess is good for nature.'

Photos from the Archives
I thought it might be fun to show some photos from the allotment archives. See how many people you recognise! Some of these were taken before we had a toilet, cabin and storeroom.
Bonfire Night 2018
Thanks to all those who turned out to our bonfire barbecue. Despite the windy weather, we had a great time.
Macmillan Coffee Morning
The site hosted another Macmillan Coffee morning on Friday 28th September. The weather was excellent which always helps and the event was enjoyed by a good number of plot holders, guests and members of the public enticed in by the amazing cakes and biscuits.
We raised a fabulous £565.00 and that’s a lot of cakes and produce!
A big, big, “thank you” to Yoko Shelley, plot 28b, who was the driving force behind the success. Thanks too to all the bakers, helpers and guests.
This is a really good cause and deserves our support again next year.

Late Spring on the Allotment
Spring has definitely arrived and has been captured in these photos by Caroline.
A Photo Tribute to Stan Gorman
This is a photo collection of Stan throughout the past few years. Stan sadly lost his battle with cancer on 4th April 2018 and we would like to share the very happy memories that we have of Stan. If there was a job to be done, Stan would be involved. He was always ready with advice for new plot holders, and loved to be involved when children came to visit the site. He would often be seen displaying his award winning veg, riding his 60 year old bike, cooking at the annual barbecues and working parties, and of course, would always make time for a cup of tea whilst we set the world to rights. He will be hugely missed.
March Working Party
The committee out in force to ensure that the perimeters around the allotment are clean and tidy.
